Shang-Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

After Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was the second MCU movie in Phase 4. It felt a lot like Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, which is a good thing because it introduced a new part of the franchise with an exciting new hero and a mythology that could go on for years.

She tries to get back control of her powers and make peace with Lila while avoiding the police who want to arrest her and study her.

As we said in our review, Fast Color is not so much a “superhero” movie as it is a family story set in a made-up world, similar to Midnight Special (2016). What’s really amazing isn’t Ruth’s abilities coming to life, but the three superb acts that make up the story, which is both sad and thrilling.
