An Underground Tunnel was Found at a Fake Gold Dealer’s House in West Bengal

Police have found an underground tunnel connecting Kultali to River Malta, West Bengal. Moreover, police originally probed against Sardar Saddam, who scammed people into buying gold.
Sardar Saddam used to scam people, luring them in for cheap gold. Moreover, he used to present fake gold items. Police also arrested his brother Sairul. Moreover, in a raid, a secret tunnel was discovered in Sardar’s house, under the house connecting Kultali, to River Malta. River Malta meets near the Indo-Bangla border.

Police suspect the tunnel to be an escape plan. Furthermore, they have stated ‘“Saddam and his brother Sairul are accused in multiple cases, and it is suspected that the tunnel was built in his house to serve as an escape route if police raid his house”.

Moreover, the charges held against Sardar Saddam and his brother are as stated, “He used to lure prospective buyers saying that he had gold bars and idols which he wants to sell off at cheaper rates. He would show them fake gold items. Once the buyers came, Saddam would take them to an isolated place and would assault the person and snatch all his belongings,
In addition, police have also arrested the wives of the accused to further investigate the matter.
