Initially, a letter from the Reliance Group to the Defense Secretary requested facilities for 30 to 40 aircraft during a specific period. However, the actual demand surpassed expectations, with the need for landing and take-off facilities for more than 600 flights. This utilization of the IAF’s resources for private events has drawn significant criticism, particularly regarding the use of Jamnagar Airport, a vital defense asset, as a makeshift commercial venue during the wedding festivities.
