As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the entire world has now come to a standstill. India also has been negatively affected by the virus and is observing a nationwide lockdown of 21 days. Being in quarantine bollywood stars have now come up with a short film on Coronavirus awareness.

As India enters completes 14 days of the proposed 21-day nation-wide lockdown, various celebrities from the Indian film industry, such as Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Chiranjeevi, Diljit Dosanjh, Mamooty, Mohanlal, Priyanka Chopra, Rajinikanth and Ranbir Kapoor  among others geared up for a short film called ‘Family’.

The film focuses on the significance of social distancing, staying at home and staying safe, maintaining hygiene and working from home to combat coronavirus. ‘Family’ premiered across Sony Network on Monday at 9 p.m. The short film can also be watched on YouTube.

Bollywood stars create awareness through a short but meaningful film

The short film by these bollywood stars on coronavirus starts with Amitabh Bachchan looking for his sunglasses or ‘kala chashma’. Ranbir Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh go around on different adventures while trying to find Amitabh’s sunglasses.

Priyanka Chopra eventually finds Amitabh’s glasses. She than hands those sunglasses to Big B to which he says, ‘I needed these sunglasses because now I don’t need them. I am not going out of the house for a few days. If it lies around, it will get lost. If it gets lost, you all will have to search for it’.

At the film’s conclusion, Amitabh says: “We all made this film together but none of us stepped out of our respective houses. Every artist shot their own section in their own house. No one stepped out of his or her house. You, too, please stay indoors. The only way to keep yourself safe from this dangerous coronavirus. Stay home, stay safe.”

Big B also added: “‘We all have come together and teamed up with sponsors and TV channel to raise a fund, and this fund will be distributed to our workers and daily wage earners.”

The Indian Film Industry Unites To Combat COVID-19

The short film was shared on Twitter by Amitabh himself with the caption: “When you see that the cause is greater than the idea you dreamt of .. there is just immense joy and gratitude for all my colleagues and friends in the making of this historic effort! We are one and we shall overcome! Jai Hind!”

This initiative taken by Big B has been supported by Sony Pictures Networks India and Kalyan Jewellers. Together, they have pledged monthly ration to support 1,00,000 households of daily wage workers belonging to the All India Film Employees Confederation amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
