Hardik Pandya to be Named Captain of India’s T-20 Team After Rohit’s Exit

Indian media reports that Hardik Pandya is to be the Indian T-20 captain. Though Rohit will lead the team in the Champions Trophy. Decision was to give Hardik ample time to be ready for the T-20 World Cup 2026.

Vice-captain is to be Jaspit Bumrah. There were other contestants for the captaincy role: Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav.

Exceptional performance in T-20 got Hardik the cap. Hardik took crucial wickets in the final against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Rohit is to lead the team in the Champions trophy. Aims of this is to give Hardik time, before the series against Sri-Lanka.
