Sad News: CID’s Fredericks, Dinesh Phadnis, Passes Away at 57

It’s a sad moment for fans of the iconic television series CID as Dinesh Phadnis, known for his memorable role as Fredericks, has left us at the age of 57.

Dayanand Shetty, his co-actor famous for portraying Daya on CID, confirmed the heartbreaking news. Dinesh breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital, facing multiple organ failure.

Dayanand Shetty explained that complications occurred, leading to Dinesh being taken off the ventilator the night before his passing. The actor’s funeral is scheduled to take place in Mumbai.

Initially believed to be a cardiac arrest, Shetty later clarified that Dinesh’s condition was associated with liver damage, not a cardiac arrest.

Dinesh Phadnis became a household name for his role in CID, a beloved show that graced TV screens from 1998 for two decades. In addition to his iconic role, he made appearances in the popular comedy Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and played supporting roles in movies like Super 30 and Sarfarosh.
