BJP Loses Faizabad Seat Despite Much-Hyped Ayodhya Ram Mandir

BJP-backed Lallu Singh lost Faizabad’s seat, Ayodhya, despite the hyped Ram Mandir inauguration. BJP-backed Lallu Singh accepted his defeat. In a speech, Lallu accepted his failure to deliver. Though the BJP had won two terms in Faizabad’s office previously, thus a defeat is a surprise for them.

Political analysts were not too serious about the BJP’s win. The local traders were not happy with the BJP. Ayodhya Vyapar Mandal from the trader’s body pointed.

He pointed out that the small traders were not happy, not being compensated properly for their business removal from the Mandir’s site.

BJP has been running the Ram Mandir campaign since the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. BJP has raised its voice for Ram Mandir in every political campaign since. BJP’s loss in the Faizabad election can be seen as a response of the Indian public to BJP’s religious rhetoric.
