Bollywood has once again ruined another old classic Mere Angne Mein giving us version 2.0 of it. The new version stars Bigg Boss 13 runner up Asim Riaz and Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez.
The song is a typical remix and there is nothing exceptional that makes you long for an encore. While the lyrics are catchy, the new version is nowhere close to the original in terms of the orchestration and vibe. The song is a holi song as India is celebrating it holi season these days.
The song has Jacqueline featuring the lady in the 1435 A.D as a princess. She is getting married to an aged and old king, which comes without her consent. While on the other side we see Asim Riaz the modern-day man who is sent back to history with the curse of his woman for flirting other women. This gives him the lesson of loyalty with his interesting and quirky acts coming out with some attractive hook steps while Jacqueline is drunk.
The song, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, is sung by Neha Kakkar and Raja Hasan.
The fact that Asim bagged a music video with Jacqueline soon after his exit from the Bigg Boss 13 house, made a lot of news. His fans cheered and prayed for his success.
However, apart from Asim’s looks and dance moves, the song is a total waste. It has destroyed the original essence of the song. Asim too has got limited screen space in the song which has disappointed his fans.
Moreover, despite the bad reviews, the song has crossed 26 million+ views within 2 days of its release.
Asim and Jacqueline had been sharing sneak peek of their new music video for Mere Angne Mein version 2.0 for some time on their respective Instagram handles. They seemed very excited about its release.
Also, Asim Riaz will be seen in a single with his girlfriend Himanshi Khurrana. The song is sung by Neha Kakkar and it will be out on March 18. Apart from that he also has a music video with Bohemia. News of him collaborating with DJ Snake too had made it to the headlines. Asim indeed is a busy man after his stint in Bigg Boss 13.
Originally, the song ‘Mere Angne Mein’ featured Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the film Laawaris (1981). Amitabh took funny take of the song and was seen showing all kinds of wives and their importance in lives. The song was a big hit and it is still alive in the hearts of people. The song still plays in weddings and Bollywood themed party.
