Shah Rukh Khan Congratulates Acid Attack Victim On Her Wedding!

The prejudice against women never reduced in India as time progressed. In fact, if anything it increased and so did the crimes against women; among which acid attacks became rampant. This cowardly act that ruins a woman’s life stems from jealousy and envy.

In addition, it is linked to the famous phrase, ‘fragile masculinity’. In its entirety, it is gender-based violence that is carried out mostly by men. Unfortunately, acid has become a tool or a weapon, easily available in the markets and for a rate that is cheap.

However, acid-attack victims aren’t letting their tragedy define their life. Shunned and victim-blamed, these women are empowering themselves to not be bogged down by the patriarchal society. This next story of a survivor named Anupama is nothing short of an inspiration.

This superwoman didn’t just survive the horrid and painful attack but also survived the inner-death that comes after the experience. The credit of her beautiful recovery partly goes to the Meer Foundation founded by non-other than Shah Rukh Khan- King of Bollywood. Moreover, it is a non-governmental organization based in Mumbai working towards the rehabilitation of acid attack survivors.

The superstar congratulated the brave acid survivor on tying the knots and starting a new journey of her life. Of course, the billions of fans worldwide were touched by this gesture. He tweeted: Congratulations and my love to Anupama as she starts on this new journey of life. May it be filled with love light and laughter. A big amen to that warm prayer. May they both continue on in this new journey filled with laughter, happiness, and great health.

Anupama is among thousands of women who are brutally abused by this attack on reasons that are extremely petty. Unfortunately, society doesn’t do much to relieve the victims of their suffering. If anything, they add on to it by shunning the women and blaming them for what befell them. This, in turn, enables the shallow and cowardly attackers and justifies their hate-crimes against the women of India.

The time has come to raise voice against such injustice, ban the distribution of acid and that too on rates as cheap as a few rupees and most importantly, make an example out of these men that are under the impression that destroying a woman’s face will destroy her spirits too.

Fans of SRK and supporters of acid-victims praised the Bollywood King on his heartfelt gesture!

Shah Rukh Khan is known for his sincere efforts towards changing the lives of the acid attack victims. The famed actor has done considerable work towards their rehabilitation including opening a dedicated rehab center – Meer Foundation. Likewise, SRK continues to participate in various humanitarian work.

Truly! The emotions are hard to put into words. The pain and agony of these women are incomprehensible. SRK’s foundation and their own will-power changes the dark-fate already prescribed by society.
