1. Zero Dark Thirty
Mark Boal wrote and Kathryn Bigelow directed the American movie Zero Dark Thirty, which came out in 2012. The movie makes the international search for Osama bin Laden, the boss of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, seem like a much longer and more exciting story. There is a CIA spy named Maya who works for Al Qaeda. She first questioned prisoners after the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Because she thinks this is the only way to get the truth, she reluctantly agrees to put the prisoners through a lot of stress. It’s been years since she stopped looking for tips to find out where Osama Bin Laden was. At the end of 2011, it looks like her hard work paid off: a group of U.S. Navy SEALs are sent to kill or arrest Bin Laden. But Maya is the only one who is sure that Bin Laden is where she says he is.
2. Expendables
Members of the “Expendables,” a group of highly skilled soldiers led by Barney Ross, are Toll Road, a demolition expert, Yin Yang, an expert in martial arts, Hale Caesar, an expert in heavy weapons, Lee Christmas, a knife fanatic, and Gunner Jensen, a loose-cannon shooter. When the mysterious Mr. Church gives the group the job of killing the cruel ruler of a small South American island, Barney and Lee go to the remote spot to look for their rivals. When they get there, they meet Sandra, a rebel from the area, and she tells them the truth about the fighting in the city. As they leave the island, Sandra stays behind. Ross has to choose whether to leave and put his own life at risk, or to try a dangerous rescue mission that might save him.
3. Source Code
A captain in the army named Colter Stevens is working on a special software that will let him put his mind into someone else. The only rule is that you can only stay for 8 minutes each time. A bomb went off on a commuter train that morning just outside of Chicago. He was last remembered flying his helicopter on a battle mission in Afghanistan. Now he is in the body of a teacher on that train to work, but he has no idea what he is doing or why he is there. The people in charge of the show tell him that there is a bomb on the train and that he needs to find it. Even more important, he needs to find the bomber because later that same day there will be another attack. However, he is also told that he can only learn about the past and not change it. He chooses to test that idea because he likes Christina, the person he is travelling with.
4. The Suicide Squad
In The Suicide Squad, the title characters are turned into a group of likeable bad guys who go on a beautiful and surprisingly moving journey. This is an exciting burst of bloody, shady comic book movies. A group of tough inmates called “The Suicide Squad” is put together by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), a government agent, to attack Jotunheim, a secret Nazi research centre off the coast of South America that is thought to still be doing horrible experiments. Idris Elba plays Bloodsport, the Squad’s reluctant leader, who has to work with others, including John Cena as the bloodthirsty Peacemaker. Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, soon joins them. She was the only person to survive a different mission to destroy Jotunheim. When they catch the bad scientist Thinker (Peter Capaldi), he tells them that the lab has been holding Starro, a scary alien creature that could wipe out humanity if it got out.
5. Safe House
The drama Safe House came out in 2012 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Denzel Washington, and Vera Farmiga. The story is about CIA spy Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), who runs a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa. Then he gets to question Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), who is the CIA’s most wanted felon. But soon after Tobin gets there, soldiers who want Tobin attack Safehouse. Tomb and Matt then have to work together to stay alive and figure out who wants Tomb dead. During the whole movie, the two stars worked well together and were perfect in their parts. You can believe us when we say that the action and acting will not let you down.
6. Inception
The 2010 movie Inception, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, is a great action/sci-fi movie. The story is about Dom Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Cobb is a skilled thief who is the best at extraction, which means that he steals important secrets from people’s minds while they are dreaming. He has a unique skill that has helped him become successful in business, but it has cost him everything he loved. Cobb is given a second chance, but only if he can do something that can’t be done. Cobb and his group of experts have to change the job so that they don’t steal an idea but instead plant one. He and his team are trying to do something that is against the law, but the enemy knows exactly what they are going to do. This movie is so interesting that it will keep you glued to the screen the whole time. The story is great, and the actors are great.
7. Edge Of Tomorrow
Edge of Tomorrow is the best action/sci-fi movie that came out in 2014. The story is about aliens attacking Earth and no armed force in the world can stop them. Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton play lead roles. Major William Cage, played by Tom Cruise, is an officer who has always fought like he was on a death mission, but he is killed right away. After that, he gets stuck in a time loop where he has to fight and die over and over again in the same battle. But William and Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) can get better at what they do with each fight. Every time Cage and Rita fight the enemy again, they get one step closer to beating them. The movie moves well, and we loved everything about it, from the plot to the script.
8. Mad Max: Fury Road
Mad Max: Fury Road, which came out in 2015, is a great action movie. The movie, which stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy and was directed by George Miller, takes place on a planet that we can’t reach after the end of the world. A world where there are no people and everyone is fighting for the things they need to live. Here live two rebels who can bring back some order so they can stay alive. On one side is Max, played by Tom Hardy. He doesn’t say much and is trying to find peace of mind after losing his wife and child. On the other side is Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, a woman who thinks the only way she can stay alive is to get to the place where she grew up. The action scenes in this movie are so intense that they will blow your mind. George Miller has made a great action movie.
9. Minority Report
The 2002 movie Minority Report has just the right amount of action, thrills, and tension. The movie stars the charming Tom Cruise and takes place in Washington, D.C., in the year 2054, where a police force called “Precrime” has almost completely wiped out crime. Three talented people on the team are called “Pre-Cogs,” and they can see into the future and call out crimes before they happen. But the Pre-Cogs say that in the next 36 hours, John Anderton (Tom Cruise), who is in charge of Precrime, will kill someone. John doesn’t even know the person who was killed. The story goes on as he decides to solve the puzzle by getting the “minority report,” which is the female Precog’s promise of a different story that will show John is not guilty. People really liked this movie because the idea and story were so new.
10. Contraband
The 2012 movie Contraband, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster, and Giovanni Ribisi, is about Chris Faraday (Mark Wahlberg), who used to sneak illegal goods into the country on freighters. After he gets married and has kids, he starts over with his life. But when his brother-in-law breaks a deal with drug dealer Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Briggs asks that the deal be made again, but he can’t. Chris decides to find a way to repay Briggs, so he boards a ship bound for Panama and plans to bring back some fake money. He then makes threats against Chris’s family and tells him to get drugs instead of cash.
